Brian Newsome is a proven leader who has spent his career building bridges between organizations, across industries, and around the world. As a Sales Manager in the chemical industry, Brian has represented world-class companies including Engelhard Corporation, BASF, and Vantage Specialty Chemicals, conducting business across the United States and internationally in countries spanning Europe and Asia. His professional superpower is simple but rare, the ability to bring people together around a common goal and deliver results. Brian will bring that same relentless commitment to Seminole County, working hand-in-hand with teachers, administrators, and parents to deliver the most comprehensive educational experience available to our students today.

Brian's academic achievements reflect a man who leads by example. He holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics, an MBA, a Master's in Divinity, a Master's in Project Management, a Doctor of Theology, and is completing his Doctorate in Strategic Management. He does not just believe in lifelong learning, he lives it, and he intends to inspire every Seminole County student to do the same.  Additionally, Brian comes from a family of educators, including his mother who was a mathematics teacher for 40 plus years.

A former U.S. Army Military Intelligence Officer and ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Brian has devoted his life to service: leading youth programs, prison ministry, addiction recovery efforts, and nursing home outreach. He is a husband and father of five daughters, a man of deep faith, and a tireless advocate for those who need a strong voice in their corner. Seminole County's students will always have that in Brian Newsome.
