Brian Newsome is an accomplished leader whose career has focused on building strong connections between organizations, industries, and international markets. As a Sales Manager in the chemical sector, he has represented globally recognized companies such as Engelhard Corporation, BASF, and Vantage Specialty Chemicals, conducting business throughout the United States as well as across Europe and Asia. His key strength lies in his ability to unite people around shared objectives and consistently drive successful outcomes. He plans to bring that same dedication to Seminole County by collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to enhance the educational experience for students.
Brian’s academic background reflects his commitment to leading through example. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, an MBA, a Master’s in Divinity, a Master’s in Project Management, and a Doctorate in Theology, and he is currently completing a Doctorate in Strategic Management. A strong believer in lifelong learning, he actively embodies that philosophy and hopes to inspire Seminole County students to do the same. He also comes from a family of educators, including his mother, who taught mathematics for more than 40 years.
A former U.S. Army Military Intelligence Officer and ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Brian has dedicated his life to service through youth programs, prison ministry, addiction recovery support, and nursing home outreach. He is a husband and father of five daughters, guided by deep faith and a strong commitment to advocating for those who need support. In Seminole County, students would have a steadfast advocate in Brian Newsome.
Brian supports practical, common-sense policies that prioritize students and families. Throughout his life, he has focused on building something larger than himself - leading teams, serving his community, pursuing knowledge with determination, and being there for others when it counted most. He is now bringing that experience and commitment to Seminole County to support our students, teachers, parents, and the future.
